The Kennedy Center

So today I took Blake to The Kennedy Center in DC. His class went to see The Trumpeter Swan. We were excited to see Kathy Bates and Richard Thomas were in the play. After the play, our tour guide told us there were some special people having lunch upstairs and they would be down soon. Blake's class left,but we stayed. We then got to see Barbra Streisand, Morgan Freeman, Glenn Close, Randy Travis, Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey. My pics didn't turn out very well but we got to see them in person.

Great day!

Today was great! We got our new bedroom furniture delievered. It is so beautiful! It's from the Biltmore collection. That is special to me because as a child my parents and grandparents took me there. My grandparents really enjoyed it there. So it holds a place in my heart because of that. I also just love it there. It is amazing. So to have my bedroom filled with furniture inspired by Biltmore is crazy.

Also today was great because at Blake's soccer game, he scored not one, but two goals! He did really well. He was so excited. He had to write "2 goals" on the note on the ball so everyone would know when they saw the picture.

Richie's Wedding

We had the wedding! It was Sept. 6 and went off great. My brother Richie got married, again. We are now home. We really missed the dogs. Here are some pictures. Check out Blake, he caught the garter.

Vacation day 5

Today we were in Melbourne, Fl. We went to Makoto steakhouse. That was our first time to any place like this. It was so fun. We then just hung out at the house. We had pizza and played cards and video games. It was nice not to have to do anything.

Vacation day 3 & 4

Today we went to Sanibel Island. It was so nice. There is a picture of the Lighthouse there. The water was still rough from Gustav. The boys had fun playing in the water. We went to the Darling wildlife refuge. Blake became a Jr ranger. We loved seeing the animals. On the drive we saw a raccoon. He crossed the road, climbed a tree, and began to eat something. It was so neat to sit and watch him and he didn't even mind that we were there. We loved seeing the all the different birds. We had a great meal @ R.C. Otters.

Vacation day #2

Today we went to Fort Desoto and Seista key. We were only at the beach at the Fort for a short while. It was rough. We then walked around the fort. When we left the fort we headed to Seista Key. We drove over a huge bridge, Skyway. It was so tall. The wind from Gustav was blowing so hard it was hard to stay on the road. Seista Key was nice. The water was warm. We then headed to the hotel to get ready for dinner. We got dressed up and went to Mike's favorite place, Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. The waitress took our picture for us. Going to bed now. Vacation day #1

We are in Clearwater today. We went to Clearwater Marine Aquarium. We saw Winter the dolphin. She lost her fluke tail and they have made her an artificial one. She has inspired people around the world. She has helped kids and vets that have artifical limbs. We took a boat trip and got to see some local creatures. We were very tired. We left friday @ 1600 and got here at 0800 this morning. Well I included some pictures. The house is Hulk Hogan's. It's for sale and at 35 million it's a steal. (NOT)

Our weekend trip

So one of my brother's and his wife came for a visit this past weekend. We decided to go tubing in Front Royal. So we get there, sign the waviers and the guy at the register asked if we would like to check our keys. My husband, knowing our luck, still he replies "no thank you." We get on the bus, get on the water and start down the river. We took lunch with us, so we get the bank and have lunch. We get back in the water and as we are floating slowly doen the river, Micheal says, Oh no! I didn't even need to ask. He says, I lost the car keys! Luckily we have a code to get in the car, but we had to take a cab home. He thought he could call and they could just make a key, but it has a code chip in it. So today the car had to be towed to the dealership to have a new key made. He was furious. I was really good. I stayed calm and didn't give him a hard time.
The trip was bad to begin with. It took us 4 hours. It was so slow. I first I thought it wasn't going to be that bad. Relax, take in the nature around us, water, how can that be boring. After the first hour we were all done. Although some complained more than others. Then the whole key thing didn't make things any better. I can tell you we will not go tubing probably ever again.

Our anniversary is Aug 6. It will have been 14 years. Wow, that sounds like a long time, but it doesn't feel like that long. I have been thinking back to when we started and what we've been through. It's been a hard road, but with God's help we have made it this far. In 14 years we've been through career changes, a move, nursing school, a child, and numerous highs and lows. We know we are only at the place we are today because of God's hand. He has blessed us in so many ways. We now have each other, a beautiful home, good jobs, great friends and family, we are in good health, two great dogs, and a wonderful son with the hope of a daughter on her way.It's so fun to look back at our pictures and see how young we were. It was the early 90's and we were young, so big hair and goofy dresses were the norm. I've always said I'd like to redo it, but no matter what we looked like or what we wore, it brought us together and we're here today and I wouldn't change that.
